I’m Lauren! I’m an artist based in Durham, North Carolina working out of my little home studio surrounded by my cat and too many houseplants. I work part time on my art while also working as a massage therapist. I love the outdoors and learning about the plants and animals local to me (and drawing them!). I got both my bachelor’s and master’s in Sustainable Development/Transportation and have been passionate about climate change and environmental issues my entire life.

I started The Pawpaw Post as a way to learn more about native plants and to share that with others. I also wanted a space to share my art and thoughts in a more offline setting. We're all maybe feeling a bit burnt out on the AI-filled internet these days and I hope that The Pawpaw Post can be a chance to get a nice thing in the mail and a gentle encouragement to go touch some native grass.
